Window sizing MacOS

Need the ability to make the main window smaller than it can currently go. At the moment, it will only shrink so far to a seemingly arbitrary width as there is a lot of wasted space on the right side. In order for it to fit into the windowed layout I typically use, it needs to be able to shrink further left and right.
